ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਮਧੇ ਮਦਨ ਚੋਰ ॥
(ਮੇਰੀ ‘ਚੰਚਲ ਬੁਧਿ’ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਹੁਣ) ਮੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਚੋਰ ਆ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਹੈ,
Within the body and mind are thieves like sexual desire,
ਜਿਨਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਹਿਰਿ ਲੀਨ ਮੋਰ ॥
ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨ-ਰੂਪ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਤਨ (ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਚੁਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਮਝ ਵਿਗਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ) ।
which has stolen my jewel of spiritual wisdom.
ਮੈ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਹਉ ਕਾਹਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ (ਬੜਾ) ਆਜਜ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ, (ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਰ) ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਾਂ?
I am a poor orphan, O God; unto whom should I complain?
ਕੋ ਕੋ ਨ ਬਿਗੂਤੋ ਮੈ ਕੋ ਆਹਿ ॥੧॥
(ਇਸ ਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਕੌਣ ਕੌਣ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ? ਮੇਰੀ (ਗ਼ਰੀਬ) ਦੀ ਕੀਹ ਪਾਂਇਆਂ ਹੈ? ।੧।
Who has not been ruined by sexual desire? What am I? ||1||
ਮਾਧਉ ਦਾਰੁਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹਿਓ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਧੋ! ਆਪਣੀ ਚੰਚਲ ਮੱਤ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਕੋਈ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦੀ ।
O Lord, I cannot endure this agonizing pain.
ਮੇਰੋ ਚਪਲ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਿਉ ਕਹਾ ਬਸਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਇਹ ਡਾਢਾ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਦੁੱਖ (ਹੁਣ) ਮੈਥੋਂ ਸਹਾਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
What power does my fickle mind have against it? ||1||Pause||
ਸਨਕ ਸਨੰਦਨ ਸਿਵ ਸੁਕਾਦਿ ॥
ਸਨਕ, ਸਨੰਦਨ, ਸ਼ਿਵ, ਸੁਕਦੇਵ ਵਰਗੇ (ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਤਪੀ)

ਨਾਭਿ ਕਮਲ ਜਾਨੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿ ॥
ਕਮਲ ਦੀ ਨਾਭੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਆਦਿਕ,
were born out of Brahma's naval chakra.
ਕਬਿ ਜਨ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਟਾਧਾਰਿ ॥
ਕਵੀ ਲੋਕ, ਜੋਗੀ ਤੇ ਜਟਾਧਾਰੀ ਸਾਧੂ—ਇਹ ਸਭ (ਕਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਡਰਦੇ)

ਸਭ ਆਪਨ ਅਉਸਰ ਚਲੇ ਸਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਦਿਨ-ਕੱਟੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ।੨।
all lived their lives with good behavior. ||2||
ਤੂ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਥਾਹ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਕਬੀਰ! (ਕਾਮ ਆਦਿਕ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ,
You are Unfathomable; I cannot know Your depth.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨਾ ਨਾਥ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਹਉ ਕਾਹਿ ॥
ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਉਂ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰ—) ਹੇ ਸੁਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਬੜੇ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਜਿਗਰੇ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ,
O God, Master of the meek, unto whom should I tell my pains?
ਮੋਰੋ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਆਥਿ ਧੀਰ ॥
ਮੈਂ (ਤੇਰੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ) ਹਾਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ । ਮੈਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈ ਕਰਾਂ?
Please rid me of the pains of birth and death, and bless me with peace.
ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਗੁਨ ਰਉ ਕਬੀਰ ॥੩॥੫॥
ਮਾਇਆ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ, ਤਾਂ ਜੁ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ ।੩।੫।
