ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Gauree, Fifth Mehl:
ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਦੇ ਉਤਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ !) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਕਦੇ (ਉਸ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ) ਉਤਰਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ
The Lord's Love shall never leave or depart.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਇ ॥੧॥
(ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਉਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਏ)
They alone understand, unto whom the Perfect Guru gives it. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਸਾਚਾ ॥
ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪੇ੍ਰਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਉਤੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਰੰਗ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ
One whose mind is attuned to the Lord's Love is true.
ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਉਹ (ਮਾਨੋ) ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਰਬ-ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
The Love of the Beloved, the Architect of Destiny, is perfect. ||1||Pause||
ਸੰਤਹ ਸੰਗਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ)
Sitting in the Society of the Saints, sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੨॥
ਉਸ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਰੰਗ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਤਰਦਾ, ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਹਿਂਦਾ ।੨
The color of His Love shall never fade away. ||2||
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ !) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ (ਕਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਾ ।
Without meditating in remembrance on the Lord, peace is not found.
ਆਨ ਰੰਗ ਫੀਕੇ ਸਭ ਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ !) ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ) ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਰੰਗ ਸਭ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਖ ਹੋਛੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੩।
All the other loves and tastes of Maya are bland and insipid. ||3||
ਗੁਰਿ ਰੰਗੇ ਸੇ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲ ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਰੰਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਖਿੜੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ
Those who are imbued with love by the Guru become happy.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਭਏ ਹੈ ਦਇਆਲ ॥੪॥੭੨॥੧੪੧॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ ! ਆਖ—ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ।੪।੭੨।੧੪੧।
Says Nanak, the Guru has become merciful to them. ||4||72||141||
