ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਏ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ) ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਸਾੜ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
Attachment to Maya is burnt away by the Word of the Shabad.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਤਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
The mind and body are rejuvenated by the Love of the True Guru.
ਸਫਲਿਓੁ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਵਿਚ,
The tree bears fruit at the Lord's Door,
ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰਿ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦਾ (ਸਰੀਰ-) ਰੁੱਖ ਸਫਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।
in love with the True Bani of the Guru's Word, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਏ ਮਨ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
ਹੇ (ਮੇਰੇ) ਮਨ! ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ (ਗੁਰ-) ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ (ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੁ ।
This mind is rejuvenated, with intuitive ease;
ਸਚ ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਤਰਾਵਤ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਂਗਾ । ਹੇ ਮਨ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਸਰੀਰ-ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਫਲ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।
loving the True Guru, it bears the fruit of truth. ||1||Pause||
ਆਪੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ (ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ) ਨੇੜੇ (ਦਿੱਸ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ) ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਹੈ ।
He Himself is near, and He Himself is far away.
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਸਦਾ) ਆਨੰਦ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, He is seen to be ever-present, close at hand.
ਛਾਵ ਘਣੀ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤੱਖ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ-ਅਗਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ)
The plants have blossomed forth, giving a dense shade.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬਿਗਸੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥੨॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਬਨਸਪਤੀ ਸੰਘਣੀ ਛਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਖਿੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ।੨।
The Gurmukh blossoms forth, with intuitive ease. ||2||
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
Night and day, he sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, day and night.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜੂਠਿ ਭਰਾਂਤਿ ॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਭਟਕਣਾ ਦੀ ਮੈਲ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ।
The True Guru drives out sin and doubt from within.
ਪਰਪੰਚ ਵੇਖਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਰਿਹਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦਾਤਿ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ
Gazing upon the wonder of God's Creation, I am wonder-struck and amazed.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦੁ ॥੩॥
ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਰਚੀ ਇਸ) ਜਗਤ-ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ‘ਵਾਹ ਵਾਹ’ ਕਰ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ ।੩।
The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord, by His Grace. ||3||
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਥਾਈਂ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸ ਭੋਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ।
The Creator Himself enjoys all delights.
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੋਈ ਪਰੁ ਹੋਗ ॥
ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਉਹੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।
Whatever He does, surely comes to pass.
ਵਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥
ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਕੋਈ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।
He is the Great Giver; He has no greed at all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੬॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਢਾਲ ਕੇ (ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।੪।੬।
O Nanak, living the Word of the Shabad, the mortal meets with God. ||4||6||
