ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਆਨੰਦਾ ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ
Celestial peace and bliss have come,
ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੰਦਾ ॥
(ਮੈਨੂੰ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ,
meeting God, who is so pleasing to my mind.
ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ (ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ
The Perfect Guru showered me with His Mercy,
ਤਾ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
ਤਦੋਂ ਦੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ ।੧।
and I attained salvation. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਮਨੁ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਪਿਆਰ-ਭਰੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
My mind is absorbed in loving devotional worship of the Lord,
ਨਿਤ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਤ ਬੀਨਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਸਦਾ ਇਕ-ਰਸ (ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੀ, ਮਾਨੋ,) ਬੀਣਾ ਵੱਜਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ ।ਰਹਾਉ।
and the unstruck melody of the celestial sound current ever resounds within me. ||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕੀ ਓਟ ਸਤਾਣੀ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ,
The Lord's feet are my all-powerful shelter and support;
ਸਭ ਚੂਕੀ ਕਾਣਿ ਲੋਕਾਣੀ ॥
ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਮੁਥਾਜੀ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਈ ।
my dependence on other people is totally finished.
ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
I have found the Life of the world, the Great Giver;
ਹਰਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਰਸਕਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਬੜੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ।੨।
in joyful rapture, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਫਾਸਾ ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਮੇਰੀ ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਜਮ ਦੀ ਫਾਹੀ ਕੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ,
God has cut away the noose of death.
ਮਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਆਸਾ ॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ (ਇਹ ਚਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ) ਆਸ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ ।
My mind's desires have been fulfilled;
ਜਹ ਪੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਸੋਈ ॥
ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਜਿਧਰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ,
wherever I look, He is there.
ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੩॥
ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਂਦਾ ।੩।
Without the Lord God, there is no other at all. ||3||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੇ ॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ,
In His Mercy, God has protected and preserved me.
ਸਭਿ ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਦੁਖ ਲਾਥੇ ॥
ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਨਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ।
I am rid of all the pains of countless incarnations.
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ,
I have meditated on the Naam, the Name of the Fearless Lord;
ਅਟਲ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੫॥੫੫॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਦੇ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ।੪।੫।੫੫।
O Nanak, I have found eternal peace. ||4||5||55||
